Meg Whitman vs Jerry brown Debate

On Octuber 12,2010 at 6:30 pm, channel 4, their was a debate on choosing our next governer, The debate was between 2 candidates of two different parties. The two candidates were candidate Democratic Jerry Brown and candidate Republican Meg Whitman. This final debate was very attacking because both candidates responded every comment that one of them said. They used a lot of facts that would make their candidate go down. So they argued about unions and crime. Meg Whitman responded that he has "40-year record of being soft on crime." After that Jerry Brown apologize to Whitman for having one of his members in his campaign calling Mag a whore. Meg did not accept his apology because it was very offensive and he had offended many people from California. Aside from that they both talked about porposition 13 and proposition 23. And it basically about taxes. So the debate had a lot of controversies over the slur by the undentified Brown associate and revelation that Whitman had employed an illegal an illegal immigrant as a housekeeper for nine years.

Summary of the Article

Basically the article is about a teenage girl named Ariana Lacono that attends to Clayton High School in North Carolina. While she was attending to school the principle saw that Ariana  had a piercing in her nose. And that is against the school dress rules. So they suspend her for having a piercing in her nose. She spoke to them and said that she has the freedom of religion and that her religion expresses through faith by tattoos and piercing and etc. They did not care about her belief and they kept on suspending her until she takes her nose piercing off. The Laconos Family went to the courts in 2002 and their was a similar case to the Laconos, the women worked in a Costco store and she had a piercing in her eyebrow. The court said that not always you need to wear a piercing all the time. In my perspective I think that their denying the girls rights because it's all stated in the Bill of Rights. And the equality of her too because  if everyone has the right for having their own religion how come she doesn't have the same right. And I also think that the  judge was not giving justice to Ariana because him should know the rights of the people. And the district themselves should understand that not all the students assisting to schools have the same religion so they should do something about it.
